Migrant Voices project

Migrant Voices empowers Spanish-speaking migrants in King County through civic workshops, accessible voter education, and nonpartisan community engagement to promote participation in local democracy.

Workshops

As part of the Migrant Voices project, we held three virtual workshops with 46 community members of South King County. The sessions provided civic education, emphasized the importance of voting, and guided participants on how to register or update their language preference to receive their ballot in Spanish—empowering our community to confidently exercise their voting rights.

Testimonials

"I was motivated to vote because every vote counts, and it’s our way to raise our voice. Let’s do it for our children, so they learn to have a voice and a vote."

Seattle

"I used to think voting was a waste of time, but this workshop taught me how to do it and helped me better understand the electoral process here."

Seattle

“Even though I cannot vote, I educate myself because my children are now old enough, and they can. As a mother, it is my responsibility to teach and encourage them to participate in elections.”
