On August 28, Washington United Migrant hosted the Virtual Gathering of Migrant Women in Washington, an initiative designed to create a safe space in Spanish where women could share experiences and strengthen the wellbeing of migrant women. Thanks to the support of Inatai Foundation, 38 migrant women from different counties across the state joined this online session focused on reflection, learning, and community support.

During the gathering, participants discussed the challenges they face in daily life—such as the impact of migration on parenting, barriers to health access, and limited resources for their families—while also sharing self-care strategies and practices of resilience. This type of activity strengthens the community leadership of migrant women in Washington, highlighting the importance of building networks of emotional support that promote equity and inclusion.

Washington United Migrant’s mission is to foster the empowerment of migrant communities, promoting collaboration and equitable access to opportunities. The Virtual Gathering of Migrant Women in Washington is an example of how migrant support organizations in Washington create a positive impact by offering culturally relevant, accessible, and inclusive spaces for their participants.
