In December 2025, Washington United Migrant (WUM) hosted a series of three virtual support groups focused on migrant grief, creating a safe and welcoming space for community members to share their experiences, connect with others, and feel supported.

The sessions were led by a mental health specialist and addressed key topics such as understanding the grieving process, the impact of migrant grief on emotional well-being, and practical ways to honor personal and collective losses.

These gatherings provided participants with tools, reflection, and a sense of community, recognizing the unique emotional challenges that often accompany the migrant experience.

Through initiatives like this, WUM continues to prioritize mental health and create culturally responsive spaces where individuals can process their experiences and find support within the community.
